Huawei Mate 30 Pro Clinches The Top Spot On DxOMark; Beats The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G

DxOMark, a photographic ranking system, has announced that the recently-unveiled Huawei Mate 30 Pro ranks at the top of the table with an overall score of 121. To achieve this spot, the Mate 30 Pro had to de-throne the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G that previously topped the chart with an overall score of 117.

The Mate 30 Pro also got the highest ever score of 131 in taking still images. Crediting high level of details, accurate target exposure, well-controlled noise, accurate depth estimation in bokeh mode, good detail in zoom shots, and good exposure and white balance in flash-on and flash-auto modes, DxOMark claims that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro easily offers the best image quality on a smartphone.

In terms of video, the phone gets a score of 100 and doesn’t manage to beat the Galaxy S10 5G+ that is currently the best smartphone for videos. Although, it’s important to note that the iPhone 11 series still haven’t been benchmarked by DxOMark and their reviews should be out too soon. Since there’s a lot of buzz on the iPhone 11’s series video-taking capabilities we won’t be surprised if the iPhone 11 series takes the lead.

While DxOMark scores are an indication, questions against it have been raised in the past. We’ll soon be checking out the Huawei Mate 30 Pro to see how it performs in day-to-day usage scenarios.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro employs a quad-camera system that includes a 40MP SuperSensing Camera, a 40MP Cine Camera, an 8MP‌ Telephoto Camera and a 3D Depth Sensing Camera. The SuperSensing Camera has an RYYB colour array, instead of an RGB colour that’s found in most camera sensors.‌ This allows the sensor to capture more light in low-light shots. The 40MP Cine Camera is an ultrawide sensor that features a large 1/1.54-inch sensor with a high maximum ISO of 51200 to capture videos.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro was unveiled in Munich last week. The phone has a 6.53-inch OLED‌ display that melts into the sides of the phone. It is powered by the Kirin 990 and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is expected to launch in India very soon.
