What is an “ESTA”?

ESTA is an abbreviation: “Electronic System for Travel Authorization”. There is no physical paperwork associated with an ESTA; instead, it is an electronic travel authorization for the United States. The obligation to file for this authorization is a safety measure imposed by US Customs and Border Protection. This way, all incoming travelers can be preemptively checked, and unwanted visitors are prohibited. Transport organizations, including airlines and shipping corporations, check whether each tourist receives a valid ESTA visa before departure. This is done by looking up the traveler’s passport number in the US Customs and Border Protection database. Travelers missing these travel permits are denied entrance.

Requirements of the ESTA visa

• You must follow the coronavirus rules in the United States. These are established by the US government, your airline, and the government of the place you are traveling once you leave the USA.

• Travellers have to prove on arrival in the United States that they intend to leave the USA in the future by producing a return or transit ticket

• Applying for an ESTA online is also needed for journeys to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the American Virgin Islands, or the Northern Marianas

• Travellers suspected of posing a threat to the safety or public order of the United States can be refused entrance by Homeland Security at any times, even if they have a valid ESTA or US visa

• Travellers who after 10 March 2011 have gone to Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Libya, or Somalia, or who have ever held the nationality of one of these countries, cannot apply for an ESTA

Travelers that do not comply with the above-listed requirements for the ESTA visa risk deportation and consequent preemptive denials of all future applications for travel authorizations to the United States.

Applying for an ESTA online

The digital ESTA form on this website is available 24 hours a day. Submitting a group application is available by adding numerous travelers to one form. Filling in an ESTA form takes around five minutes for each traveler. Afterward, the charge can be paid, which amounts to € 29,95 per person. Pay the amount through various payment modes. The application will be handled once the payment is received.

Urgent application?

Travelers seeking an urgent ESTA should select the “urgent delivery” option in the online application form. The application will afterward be treated with priority. This generally results in an authorized ESTA visa within one hour. As soon as the application has been approved, a confirmation will be issued via email and text message. Printing this confirmation is unnecessary, suggesting that applying can even be done at the airport.

Even urgent applications can, in some instances, take longer. That is why it is essential to submit your ESTA application as soon as a trip to the USA has been booked. It is unnecessary to have already scheduled lodgings or pick a contact person before applying.
