Born and raised in Korea, she came to the United States at the tender age of 14 lacking any knowledge of the English language. Despite that, Suhyun completed her school and ultimately graduated college with an exceptional grade point average exceeding the 4.0 GPA scale.
Dr. An firmly resonates with spreading the light of education across the world, especially to those who may face obstacles in furthering their education due to financial impairment. Seeing the vicious cycle an inability to afford college creates economically, mentally, and opportunisticallyin what often becomes generations of a family not being able to afford education, Dr. SuhyunAn decided to do something about it.
Dr. Suhyun created a scholarship program specifically with the goal of aiding medical professional named The Dr. SuhyunAn Scholarship. Her aim through this scholarship is toextend her philanthropic endeavors to college and university students who desire to achieve excellence in the medical field. The primary objective of this scholarship is to minimize and easethe financial burden that these young, determined minds encounterthroughout their college career.
The Dr. SuhyunAn Scholarship is awarded to two students annually who perform exceptionally well in the field of medical science. Scholarship applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0, two academic or professional references, and submitted an essay explaining his or her interest in the medical field in. Video submissions are also welcomed and encouraged butare not a mandatory requirement.
